At RayyLabs, your privacy is our foundational engineering principle. Texpander is designed as a secure, offline-first productivity assistant. We firmly believe that your typed content, personal messages, and sensitive information belong exclusively to you.

2. Prominent Accessibility Service API Disclosure

To provide system-wide text expansion and inline assistive tools across third-party applications, Texpander requests access to Android's Accessibility Service API (android.permission.BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE).

How the Accessibility Service is Used:

• Keyword Trigger Detection: The service inspects user input in active text fields solely to identify when you type your configured abbreviation triggers (such as /addr or .es).
• Inline Text Replacement: When a match is recognized, the service programmatically deletes the trigger characters and pastes your expanded phrase or calculation result.
• Floating Overlay Positioning: The service calculates the screen coordinates of the active text cursor to position the floating suggestion window adjacent to your typing area.

What the Accessibility Service NEVER Does:

• No Keystroke Logging: Characters typed that do not match a configured shortcut trigger are discarded immediately from volatile memory.
• No Password Interception: Password fields, PIN inputs, and sensitive authentication screens are explicitly ignored.
• No Background Transmission: No text observed by the Accessibility Service is ever transmitted over the network or saved to permanent log files.

3. Data Collection & Local Storage

All configuration data created within Texpander—including your custom shortcut triggers, expanded text templates, action preferences, image vault files, and analytics counters—is stored exclusively on your device's internal storage using Android's encrypted Room SQLite Database and Jetpack DataStore.

We operate zero tracking servers, zero analytical telemetry services, and zero third-party advertising SDKs.

4. Android Permissions Usage

Texpander requests only the minimum set of permissions necessary to deliver its core features:

• android.permission.BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE: Required to detect shortcut triggers and expand text snippets system-wide.
• android.permission.INTERNET: Required strictly for optional user-requested actions: invoking the Gemini AI API, fetching live foreign currency exchange rates, and communicating with Google Drive for cloud backups.
• android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Used to display backup completion status and Quick Settings tile indicators.
• android.permission.QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES: Used to allow you to launch installed apps or target messenger apps from shortcut actions.
• android.permission.READ_CONTACTS & android.permission.CALL_PHONE (Optional): Only requested on-demand if you configure contact search or direct phone dialing shortcut actions.
• android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Restores background scheduling for periodic Google Drive backups after device reboot.

5. Third-Party Services & Integrations

When you explicitly utilize certain optional online features, Texpander interfaces with the following services:

• Google Gemini API: When you trigger an AI query using /ai or /re, your specific prompt text is transmitted via secure HTTPS to Google's Gemini API endpoints to generate the response. No personal identity or shortcut database is attached.
• Google Drive API: If you connect your Google Account for cloud backups, Texpander uploads encrypted snapshot files strictly to your private AppData folder on Google Drive. RayyLabs has no access to your Google Account or backup archives.
• Google Play In-App Billing: All financial transactions for Texpander Pro Lifetime upgrades are processed directly and securely by Google Play. We never handle or receive your credit card or billing details.

6. Data Security & Retention

Because all user data resides locally on your Android device, you have complete control over your information.

• Data Deletion: You can delete individual shortcuts, clear image vaults, or reset the application database at any time from within Settings.
• Uninstallation: Uninstalling the application completely purges all local databases, cached images, and preferences from your device.
• Cloud Backup Management: Cloud backup snapshots stored in your Google Drive can be viewed, restored, or permanently deleted directly inside Texpander's Backup & Restore screen.

7. Children's Privacy

Texpander is a general-audience productivity utility and does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13.

8. Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using Texpander, you agree to the following terms:

• License Grant: RayyLabs grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Texpander for personal or commercial productivity purposes in accordance with these terms.
• Acceptable Use: You agree not to use the application to distribute malicious payloads, generate abusive or harmful content, or violate applicable laws.
• Disclaimer of Warranties: The application is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. RayyLabs does not warrant that the application will be error-free or uninterrupted.
• Limitation of Liability: In no event shall RayyLabs be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the application.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy and Terms from time to time to reflect enhancements or regulatory requirements. Any modifications will be posted on this webpage with an updated Effective Date.
